Well a group of researchers decided to actually study the same thing in a lab…

They had six men eat like the typical North American or United States North American… where you have soda cups the size of two toasters…

These men ate 6,000 calories a day – made up of pizza, hamburgers and other junk food for a week…

The men were strapped to a hospital bed and not allowed to do any kind of exercise…

Which isn’t much different from sitting on a couch all day or for professional drivers like taxi men… sitting in your car seat all day…

(No offence taxi people…)

And they discovered that in 7 days…

Every Single One of Them Got Fatter… By 7.72 Pounds!

Which is 3.5 kg for your metric souls… 1

They also showed signs of insulin resistance meaning that their cells couldn’t take any more sugar and the insulin signal for “store more energy” wasn’t working any more…

… Meaning that sugar was now starting to float in their blood and then turn into all kinds of heart clogging, diabetes triggering fat…

Guenther Boden and Salim Merali at Temple University, Philadelphia stated: 2

‘Here, we have shown that feeding a common U.S. diet to healthy nonobese men at 2 to 2.5 times their regular caloric intake for as little as 1 to 2 days produced severe systemic and adipose tissue insulin resistance in every one of six study subjects,’ they concluded.

In normal talk that mans they were starting to get heart disease, fatter and diabetic…

And that’s no surprise since the food companies out there pay food scientists to make junk food and fast food as tasty as possible…

So Why Was It Happening?

It’s because of something called GLUT-4…

It’s a doorway into many cells, especially muscle cells, that transports blood sugar or blood glucose into the cell… in everyday talk terms you could say…

In science terms it’s a major insulin-facilitated glucose transporter

That means the door only opens when insulin is used as the key…

The only problem?

Once you stuff a cell with so much sugar it can’t take any more, the door stops working…

It’s jammed…

It’s also possible that too much insulin “key” signals also shut the door way…

Kind of like opening the door too much until the key breaks…

Again scientists are trying to determine the exact reason though no one can deny the results of whatever’s going wrong…

Finally…

Worse still, the vast majority of those with diabetes or prediabetes – defined as patients with high blood sugar at risk of getting the condition – are not aware they have it, researchers say.

Try to get them to change if you can (though I guess it’s easier said than done)… because it doesn’t take long for bad health to start…
